Derek's family

What fun! We're glad to be part of the blog!  Here's a few pics of the Derek-third-son-of-DeAnn-family.

Tanner: Age 5 and three quarters. About to complete his kindergarten year at school. Just started reading chapter books and learning how to multiply. Lives for science experiments and digging in the dirt outside. Loves to help mom and dad, cook in the kitchen, and play with his younger siblings.

Lexie: age 4 and a third. Likes accessories and anything that sparkles.  Shoes are an obsession. She "needs her mommy" and loves to cuddle. Lexie is just learning to read and lives for weekly playdates/preschool with her friends. She and Tanner are the best of friends.

Colin: age 23 months. Busy. The life of the party, always smiling.  Very mechanically minded, wants to figure out how things work.  Busy. Loves to give hugs and be with mom. Tries hard to be like Lexie. The best cuddler of the bunch. Busy, busy, busy! Oh, and keeps mom BUSY!

Porter: age 3 months. Is now laughing (mostly at dad) and sleeping through the night. Is a joy to have in our family!  Quite particular to mom for help falling asleep, but gives Lexie lots of smiles.

Derek is BUSY too! He is just about to start his last year of Residency in Pathology.  He's training for a marathon with his brothers, but having a tough time finding time to train due to work and his calling as Young Men's President.  Oh, and family! Spring is here, so he can mostly be found in the yard digging with Tanner!  He's a fabulous father and fantastic husband.

Emily is slowly getting the hang of having 4 kids.  She is serving as the 2nd Counselor in the Relief Society.  She recently took a trip to San Antonio with the kids to see Eleanor and kids during their spring break. With two adults and 8 kids they thought of DeAnn and Mark a lot, especially at meal times!  Here they all are at the Zoo!
